William and Catherine join an adoring public to deliver heartfelt birthday wishes to Queen Camilla

Prince William and Princess Catherine have extended their heartfelt birthday wishes to Queen Camilla on social media, celebrating her 77th birthday on Wednesday, July 17.

The royal couple posted a portrait of Queen Camilla, captured by Catherine, which previously graced the cover of a special commemorative edition of Country Life magazine two years ago in which the Queen served as guest-editor in honour of her 75th birthday.

“Wishing Her Majesty a very Happy Birthday!” the pair wrote alongside the image.

The heartfelt birthday wishes were not confined solely to the Royal Family, with members of the public turning out in droves to celebrate Camilla’s special day.

Camilla’s birthday comes after she and her husband faced a challenging year with the King being diagnosed with cancer and Princess Catherine also facing her cancer diagnosis.

The Queen has been labelled the Monarchy’s “saviour” during this difficult time and was praised for keeping “the show on the road” in the King’s absence while he stepped away from public duties in light of his diagnosis.
