Prince William and Princess Catherine have delighted royal fans after sharing a new photograph to celebrate Prince George’s 12th birthday.
In the birthday portrait taken by Josh Shinner in Norfolk earlier this year, Prince George is seen smiling as he rests against a fence.
His ensemble includes a classic checked shirt paired with a brown fleece gilet, the young royal striking a remarkable likeness to his father.
The image was shared on social media with a simple caption: “Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!”

Royal fans wasted no time in sending their best wishes to George on his birthday, with many marvelling at how quickly the future king is growing up.
“Happy Birthday Prince George! You look more like your Dad every year!” one wrote.
“Where did those 12 years go! Wishing Prince George a very happy birthday full of family fun.”
“Happy 12th Birthday Prince George, hope you have the best day,” another commented.
“Wishing Prince George a very Happy 12th Birthday 🎂💙. I can’t believe he is already 12 🥺🤎. I hope he is having an amazing day with his family.”
As George celebrates his special day, another royal milestone is just around the corner for his great aunt, Princess Anne.
The Princess Royal is preparing to celebrate her 75th birthday on August 15, and the Royal Mint is honouring the occasion with a newly issued commemorative coin.
This marks the first time The Princess Royal has been featured on an official UK coin — a tribute to her extraordinary dedication to the monarchy and public service.
The coin was designed by renowned artist Thomas T. Docherty, the same designer behind HRH The Prince of Wales’s 40th birthday coin. His latest creation features a portrait of Princess Anne based on an official image by celebrated photographer John Swannell, a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society. The portrait shows Her Royal Highness wearing the Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara — a delicate piece created by Cartier — adding a touch of regal elegance.
Encircling the design is a fitting inscription: “The Princess Royal – Celebrating 75 Years – Duty and Devotion.” To the right of the portrait sits The Princess Royal’s official Coat of Arms, symbolising her unique role within the Royal Family.

Speaking about the project, Docherty said it was “an honour to create this commemorative coin celebrating The Princess Royal’s 75th birthday.”
