Sir Elton John left with ‘limited vision’ following recent health battle

Fans have rallied behind Sir Elton John after the legendary singer revealed that he has been left with “only limited vision” after dealing with a “severe eye infection”.

Despite the concerning health news, Sir Elton took to social media to assure fans he’s still standing, though it will take “some time” to fully recover from the infection.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” he explained.

“I am healing but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.

“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.

“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

In a touching display of support, fans flooded social media with heartfelt best wishes for the beloved musician’s speedy recovery.

“Sending our love and support your way. Feel better soon, friend,” one fan wrote.

“Get well soon Sir Elton. Daddy and I were watching your concert together yesterday. He was loving Bennie And The Jets.”

“Take your time and recover, Elton. We’ll be here waiting for your return when you’re healthy and ready,” commented another.

“Feel better soon always sending love your way you wonderful, wonderful man. Take care of you. You’ll be back in a flash.”

Sir Elton’s latest health setback comes after he was hospitalised in August 2023 after experiencing a fall at his villa in France.

After experiencing “a slip”, the British superstar was taken to the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco where he underwent precautionary treatment.

“Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” a spokesperson told the BBC at the time.

“Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and his now back at home and in good health.”
