The Danish royal family sported their best activewear as they took part in a special fun run together this week.
Princess Mary, Prince Frederik and their children laced up their shoes for the event in the city of Aalborg in a bid to connect with the people of Denmark.
The doting mother-of-four took to Instagram in the morning to share details of the run, looking fit and ready for action in her running gear.
“I am on my way to Aalborg where I have asked myself the challenge of running two races,” Mary explained alongside a snap of herself.

“Among other things, I have to run with a group of Christmas brand children who have trained up to today for months.”
She added: “It’s cool that, like many other runners today, they have taken up the challenge! Last year it was very special to feel the sense of community that was around Royal Run. I’m looking forward to seeing you again.”
Mary’s eldest son Prince Christian also shared his own snap in the lead up to the event. The 13-year-old sat waiting in anticipation for the run to begin with his three siblings who all sported their best running shoes.
“In a little while, along with my siblings, I will run a family mile,” he wrote on the Instagram post. “We look forward to running across the castle square.”

The Royal Run first began in 2018 with Mary and Frederik choosing to repeat it again this year in hopes of connecting more with the community.
With Frederik suffering from back problems Mary takes on the majority of the running races, competing in both a 5km run in Aalborg and a 10km race in Copenhagen.
The latest family event was a stark difference to their more fancy royal outing at the weekend. Crown Princess Mary dazzled in a floor-length gown as she stepped out alongside her husband Crown Prince Frederik and their children to celebrate Prince Joachim’s 50th birthday.
The princess, originally from Tasmania, looked incredible in the eye-catching frock which nipped her in at the waist and featured a stunning one-shoulder neckline, while Frederik opted for a smart navy suit.

It was a family affair with 12-year-old Princess Isabella and eight-year-old Princess Josephine wearing beautiful dresses. Meanwhile, eight-year-old Prince Vincent and 13-year-old Prince Christian wore similar suits to their father.
