Princess Mary marks daughter Isabella’s 13th birthday with series of unseen snaps

Crown Princess Mary regularly shares photographs and updates on her four children on social media, and on Tuesday she took to Instagram to mark a rather special milestone.

The Hobart-born royal shared a series of never-before-seen photographs to mark eldest daughter Princess Isabella’s 13th birthday, including one brand new image taken recently.

“It is Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella’s 13th birthday, and for today’s occasion it is a pleasure for the Crown Prince couple to share a new image of the Princess,” the post read.

“In addition, the Crown Prince couple marks that Princess Isabella is now a teenager by publishing four private photos from Her Royal Highness’s life.”

The first image was a brand new photograph of the teenage princess, taken by her mother Crown Princess Mary. In the photo, Isabella can be seen smiling sweetly at the camera, with the youngster bearing a striking resemblance to her mother.

Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik, who also share children Prince Christian, 14, and nine-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, also shared an adorable baby photograph of Isabella, as well as an image of her with her grandmother, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

Another image showed Princess Isabella as a toddler, dressed in a sweet pink princess outfit. While the final image showed Isabella wearing a navy blue puffer jacket, enjoying the outdoors.

Many Danish followers and supporters of the royal family congratulated Isabella, and shared birthday wishes for the young princess. One person wrote: “I remember quite clearly the day you were born. Today is also my father’s birthday, and 13 years ago we moved back and forth between living room and TV room, to keep up with the news. May your entrance into the teenage years be good despite being otherwise quiet.”

Another said: “Congratulations to the 13 years. Hope you have a great day with good gifts. Congratulations.” [sic]

While another commented: “She looks like her beautiful mother as she has grown older. Completely the same heart-shaped face, the same smile, the same calm and radiance as her mother Mary. Isabella is a really beautiful mix of both parents.

“What a joy to follow the Crown Prince family. First a son to the heir to the throne, then the first princess in 60 years and then twins. The Crown Prince family is a gift that keeps on giving. Down to earth!”
