A French princess has tragically lost her life at the age of 54, four weeks after being placed in a medically induced coma following a serious motorcycle accident.
Princess Hermine of Clermont-Tonnerre passed away on July 3, according to French publication Point De Vue. She was injured in a crash in Paris last month.
“All her family and friends will keep from Hermine the memory of a great lady with a big heart who always had time for others,” her family said in a statement to the magazine.
“‘It was enough that she entered a party to change the atmosphere and energize all the assistance.” [sic]
Hermine’s family added: “She transported you with a joy and a kindness that one that we are not going to forget just like her smile even if she confused more than one by her frankness and her enthusiasm.”
She is survived by her two daughters Allegra and Calixte, whom she shared with a British financier named Alastair Cuddeford.

The publication described Hermine – the only daughter of Charles Henri, 11th Duke of Clermont-Tonnerre and Anne Moranvillé – as “one of the last rebel princesses”. She worked in fashion and journalism in the 1990s before establishing a career as a successful artist.
Following Hermine’s death, one of her friends shared a moving tribute on social media. “Hermine left us this morning she hasn’t recovered from her motorcycle accident and her long 4 week coma – Bye my lovely Princess!” event manager Vivianne Zaniroli wrote on Facebook. “You will forever be in my heart – you are the soul and spirit of the Princesses Rally forever! We had fun, we had a good laugh! I love you and my heart bleeds today.
“Tender thoughts to Allegra and Calixte her orphaned children from a very beautiful mom. Rest in peace my friend life is very unfair!”
