Princess Charlene took to social media over the Easter weekend to share a family portrait, marking the royal’s first appearance in months.

The 44-year-old lounged alongside a pool with her husband Prince Albert II and their two children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Charlene has been notably absent from the public eye after a long-running health battle that saw her suffering from “exhaustion, both emotional and physical”.

Her health struggles began during a visit to South Africa in May, 2021 that saw her stranded in the country, unable to fly, due to “a serious sinus infection and bouts of surgery”.

On March 12, People reported the palace confirmed Charlene was back home and will continue her “convalescence in the Principality with her husband and her children by her side” after her recovery was progressing in a “very encouraging way”.

The Monaco Palace issued a statement to the public regarding Princess Charlene’s health after she was noticeably absent from one of Monaco’s largest religious celebrations.

“The convalescence of H.S.H. Princess Charlene is currently continuing in a very satisfying and encouraging way,” the statement read.

“The Princess will unfortunately not be able to attend the Saint Dévote festivities this year.

“With her husband H.S.H. Prince Albert II, she shares her heart with all Monegasques and residents on the occasion of these celebrations.”

The photos are the first time the Princess has been seen since November 2021, when she posted a photo with her family whom she hadn’t seen for almost a year, during a short return to Monaco.

Charlene’s absence stirred rumours of marriage troubles which the Prince quickly shut down, telling People “she didn’t leave because she was mad at me or at anybody else”.

“It was only supposed to be a weeklong, 10-day maximum stay, and because she had this infection all these medical complications arose.”

The Palace said that the Princess’s recovery would “still take several weeks”.

How nice is it to see the royal family back together again?
