It has been four days since Princess Beatrice shocked royal-watchers the world over by revealing she had secretly married fiance Edoardo Mopelli Mozzi, and now Princess Eugenie has paid tribute to her “beautiful big sister”.

While we are yet to see any photos of the sisters together on the big day, Eugenie, who is approaching her own second wedding anniversary, reposted four of Beatrice’s stunning wedding portraits on social media overnight, and described her “joy” at watching Beatrice, 31, tie the knot with Edo, 37.

“Couldn’t Bea happier (get it),” Eugenie wrote on Instagram. “What a complete joy and privilege to watch you, my beautiful big sister, walk down the aisle to dear Edo.

“I am so proud of you and I’m so excited to support you in the next chapter of your life. We are going to have so much fun together. ⁣Happy wedding day to you both xxxx”

Beatrice and property developer Edo said ‘I do’ on Friday morning at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other close family members attended.

“The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor,” a palace spokesperson said in a statement. “The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government guidelines.”

So far four photographs, taken by Beatrice and Edoardo’s official wedding photographer Benjamin Wheeler, have been shared with the public, including a portrait of the happy couple with Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh following the ceremony, as well as one sweet shot of them exiting the chapel as husband and wife.

An additional two photos were also shared on Sunday, showing the couple in the grounds of the Royal Lodge after exchanging vows. In one of the new photographs, Edoardo can be seen gazing adoringly at his new wife, while a second shows the happy couple holding hands as they walk through the grounds of the property, which is home to Beatrice’s parents Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York.

The pair – who got engaged during a weekend trip to Italy in September 2019 – had originally planned to marry on May 29 in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace, but the ceremony had to be called off due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
