With royal wedding fever heating up around the world, savvy collectors are eyeing off the special-edition items made to mark the occasion that could one day be worth thousands of pounds.
The latest bit of memorabilia to set to leave royal fans salivating is the Royal Trust’s official commemorative china for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. The Trust, which works alongside the royal family on everything from souvenirs to valuable royal treasures and historic artefacts, released the collection at the weekend and it’s certainly something special.
The collection, commissioned exclusively by Buckingham Palace, is made from English fine bone china, and was handmade in England using traditional methods unchanged for 250 years.
The gorgeous collection consists of a plate, a pillbox and three mugs, each one intricately decorated in an exclusive design that shows a monogram surmounted by the coronet of Prince Harry, and tied together with white ribbons.
The decorative borders are inspired by the mid-thirteenth century Gilebertus doors at St. George’s Chapel, where the pair will say “I do”.
The plate, one of the standout pieces from the collection, features the couple’s initials embossed in the centre.

The delicate pillbox measures at 3.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm, making it perfect for the bedside table.

While there are three mugs in the collection, it’s the miniature mug adorned with white ribbon that’s sure to be popular.

With the collection ranging between £20-49 (AU$36-90, US$28-70), it’s certainly obtainable for royal fans wanting to get their hands on a piece of history.
Royal memorabilia fetches anything between £10 to well over £1000 on eBay, meaning those who snap up Harry and Meghan’s china could be sitting on a pretty penny in years to come.
The couple are set to say their vows on May 19 at St George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
They sent out their official invitations last week to 600 lucky guests, who’ll join them for the ceremony. For the pair’s evening reception, numbers will be reduced to 200 for a more intimate gathering with their families and closest friends.
The Palace released a series of stunning images of the couple’s invites, which were handmade by London printer Barnard & Westwood, which holds offical Royal Warrants to both the Queen and Prince Charles.
