The Duchess of Cornwall has given fans something to talk about as she arrived at the Aintree Racecourse on Saturday, April 12, looking the picture of royal elegance, sophistication and style.
The Duchess donned an understated collared green blazer dress accessorized with stunning pearl drop earrings, cream-coloured blouse and scarf with a matching wide-brimmed fur hat to pair.
The elegant royal touched off the outfit with black leather gloves and a number of special brooches likely representing her personal passion and involvement with the races. Notably, The Duchess wore a bedazzled horse shoe brooch on the right side of her chest, which, according to Hello Magazine, would have cost the royal a generous 16,000 pounds.
The outfit comes as a subtle nod to the late Prince Phillip as the royal family celebrated the first anniversary of his death in a special thanksgiving memorial on March, 29. The colour green represents The Duke’s loyal association with the Rifles Regiment (2007-2020) and was a key colour used Prince Phillip’s staff liveries and private cars over the years, and for his funeral carriage.
In another touching and subtle gesture to Prince Phillip, the Queen along with Camilla and Princess Anne all wore dark green attire during the memorial service. Approximately 1800 family members and guests were in attendance for the memorial.
Camilla has long been known for her outstanding fashion sense, often stealing the show at royal engagements and special events. On January 27, the Duchess stepped out in green once again as she attended a domestic violence charity event at Clarence House.
Despite her striking fashion sense, The Duchess is arguably most renowned for her alleged infamous affair with now husband, Prince Charles, a narrative that frequently overshadows Camilla’s royal legacy.
