In the exciting world of television quiz shows, few personalities shine as brightly as Anne Hegerty, affectionately known as “The Governess” on the beloved trivia extravaganza, The Chase.

However, amidst the intense quizzing and nail-biting moments, Hegerty has revealed her favourite part of being on the show, and it’s not just about the thrill of competition.

In an interview with The Express, Hegerty opened up about what makes her time on The Chase truly special. Reflecting on her experience, she shared that she has “too many favourite things”.

“Possibly working with Brad. He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him,” she revealed.

But beyond the star-studded company, Hegerty finds a unique sense of fulfillment in the job itself.

“But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant,” she shared.

“So it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for The Chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”

In addition to reflecting on what she loves most about her role on The Chase, Hegerty also recently provided a glimpse into her future with the iconic show, hinting that retirement is not on the cards just now.

When quizzed about her plans, the 66-year-old quizmaster responded with unwavering enthusiasm, undoubtedly leaving fans buzzing.

“As long as they’ll have me. I don’t have any plans to retire. This is the little workhorse that makes everything else possible, and I love doing it,” she revealed.
