Royal fans have rallied behind a heartbroken Queen Camilla following the death of her beloved dog and “much-loved companion” Beth.
The 13-year-old Jack Russell terrier reportedly had an untreatable tumour and was put down over the weekend. Beth had been a loyal presence at Camilla’s side, making numerous appearances at royal engagements over the years.
Buckingham Palace announced the heartbreaking news on social media alongside a series of images of the Queen’s beloved dog.
“A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire,” the Palace wrote.

As news broke of Camilla’s loss, royal fans were quick to offer their condolences.
“Rest in peace Beth. Condolences to Their Majesties,” one wrote.
“So hard saying goodbye.”
“Very sad news. So sorry for your loss Your Majesty,” commented another.
“So sorry to hear this. She seemed like such a wonderful character.”
The heartbreaking loss comes as Queen Camilla recovers from a chest infection, which recently forced her to cancel several engagements.
“Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest,” a palace spokesperson said at the time.
“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.”
