Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, was the focus of a recent heartfelt discussion from daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who praised her strength and positivity.

Appearing on the Lessons From Our Mothers podcast, the two royals opened up about the values and life lessons passed down to them through both joyful and challenging times.

Princess Beatrice spoke warmly of her mother’s ability to embrace life with courage and enthusiasm, an attitude that shaped their family even in the most difficult moments.

“Mum’s ability to sort of jump into any situation, there was always an adventure to be had,” she said.

“It’s so fun reflecting and looking back to say, even some of the harder times through divorce and through challenging moments. There was always an adventure and she had an ability to kind of jump into things with two feet.”

“It’s this sort of way with which she just brought that joy to moments,” she added.

This sense of resilience has been especially evident in recent years, as Ferguson faced two major health battles: a breast cancer diagnosis followed by malignant melanoma. Despite the daunting challenges, her daughters have been inspired by her courage and tenacity.

“She’s been through so much,” Beatrice shared in a separate interview on This Morning, “but I think, really, now she’s coming into her own.”

“I think we’re just reminded, when any parent or individual has sort of a health scenario, just really get the checks that you need to get as early as you possibly can.

“I think, you know, both my sister and I are so proud of her for taking those steps to get those checks and [we’ve] sort of really modelled our health considerations on that.

“We’re really lucky in the UK to make sure that you can get those checks as best you can and hopefully we can do as much as we [can] to support each other when anyone goes through a health scare.

“Nothing’s more important than family.”

Thankfully, Ferguson recently shared encouraging news: during a recent appearance on Sunrise, she announced that her doctors had given her the all-clear and confirmed that the cancer had not spread.
