Princess Anne is set to honour her late father, Prince Philip, by taking on the prestigious role of President of the In & Out Naval Military Club.
A letter to members, obtained by HELLO! magazine, confirmed that the Princess Royal has graciously agreed to serve as the Club’s President for an initial period of three years, following in the footsteps of Prince Philip, who held the position from 1979 until his passing in 2021.
The club expressed its deep privilege in welcoming its second Royal President, particularly given Princess Anne’s already extensive commitments.
“Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal has kindly agreed to assume the role of President of the In & Out Club for an initial period of 3 years, with immediate effect,” the letter read.
“Members will recall that our first president, HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh passed away on 9th April 2021 having been a member since 1947 and President since 1979.
“It is a great honour for the Club to have a second Royal President, and we are very privileged that Her Royal Highness has accepted our invitation, especially considering Her existing commitments.”
Anne’s latest appointment adds to an already jam-packed workload for the Princess Royal who has proven her commitment to her royal duties time and time again, earning her the reputation as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family.
According to a report from The Telegraph earlier this year, Princess Anne had attended 457 engagements in the past year.
This places her as the busiest member of her family for the third consecutive year, surpassing even King Charles, who had attended 425 engagements at the time in his new role.
The third busiest was their youngest brother, Prince Edward, with 309 engagements. In contrast, the heir apparent to the throne, Prince William, has only attended 172.
Anne’s commitment to her royal duties was evident when she recently returned to public service shortly after being admitted to the hospital for a concussion.
The Princess Royal was reportedly kicked by a horse on her Gloucestershire property on Sunday, June 23, sustaining minor head injuries and a concussion. Emergency services were dispatched to the estate, and after receiving medical care at the scene, the Princess was taken to hospital to undergo further tests, treatment, and observation.
Although it appeared that Anne would delay her upcoming royal engagements during her recovery, the Princess made a welcome return to the public eye on Friday, July 12, attending the Riding for the Disabled Association National Championships held in western England.
Royal fans were thrilled to see Princess Anne return to her public duties, with many eagerly welcoming the beloved royal back to the public eye.
