Much like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the disgraced Prince Andrew will miss out on Christmas with the Royal Family this year following yet another public scandal, as reported by the BBC.
Andrew is expected to skip the Royal Family’s traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham, where 45 members of the Firm are expected to spend Christmas Day. This decision came after a High Court hearing revealed Andrew’s controversial ties to Yang Tengbo, an alleged Chinese spy banned from the UK, described as a “close confidant” of the prince.
While Andrew will miss out on spending time with his family during the festive season, he won’t be alone as his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is said to be also forgoing Christmas at Sandringham to spend the day at the Royal Lodge alongside her ex-husband.
Ferguson has remained firmly in Andrew’s corner despite a series of public scandals. She recently expressed her unwavering support for Andrew, calling him a “great man with a great heart”.
Ferguson married Andrew in 1986, and they had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, before separating in 1992 and divorcing in 1996.
Although their marriage ended, Ferguson recently revealed that she has no regrets about their relationship.
“I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent,” she told The Sunday Times.
“He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind.
“Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It’s still with us today.
“I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce.”
Ferguson has previously revealed she made a promise to the late Queen Elizabeth that she would always look after Andrew.
