Nicole Kidman marks late mother’s birthday with heartbreaking message

Beloved Australian actress Nicole Kidman has delivered a moving tribute to her late parents, reflecting on how deeply she misses them.

Kidman lost her father Antony in 2014 after he suffered a heart attack, while her mum Janelle died last September. Kidman learned of her mother’s death while attending the Venice Film Festival in Italy, where she was promoting her new movie Babygirl. The tragic news forced her to miss the event.

Amid her grief, Kidman took to Instagram to mark her mother’s birthday, reflecting on her parents no longer being in her life.

“Missing Mumma and Papa so much on what would have been her birthday today,” she wrote.

In response to Kidman’s moving post, fans flooded her social media with messages of sympathy and support, offering words of comfort during this challenging time.

Kidman recently spoke about her ongoing grief, explaining that it has been “a hard road” since her mother’s passing but that she is “hanging in there”.

“I wish my mama was here,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

“That’d be the one thing I’d say. Everything is great with work but I wish my mama was here.”

In the wake of her mother’s death, Kidman was overwhelmed with an outpouring of “love and kindness” from fans. She took to social media to express her heartfelt gratitude for the support alongside three photos of her late mother: one solo portrait and two with Kidman and her sister, Antonia.

“My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,” she wrote at the time.

“Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express. Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other.”
