The ongoing rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family has taken another turn with Meghan Markle reportedly demanding an apology from Prince William and Princess Catherine before burying the hatchet.

Royal author Tom Quinn has provided insight into the complex dynamics within the Royal Family, shedding light on Meghan’s stance amid rumors of a potential reconciliation.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Quinn discussed Meghan’s firm stance, stating, “Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”

While Harry may be inclined towards reconciliation, his allegiance to Meghan seems unwavering, with her grievances serving as a barrier to any meaningful reconnection.

Even Catherine’s recent battle with illness, which might typically serve as a catalyst for familial reconciliation, has done little to alleviate Meghan’s “sense of grievance”.

“There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness, Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening,” Quinn said.

“Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.”

Quinn’s revelations come after recent reports indicated that Harry is focused on mending fences during his upcoming trip to the UK, with the aim of returning to the harmonious dynamic he once shared with the Royal Family.

According to insiders speaking to The Mirror, Harry’s top priority upon touching down on British soil will be rekindling the bond with his father, King Charles.

“Harry’s priority when he comes to England is to see his dad. He is pretty focused on this,” the source revealed.

“It will be his first port of call when he comes off the plane, to try and spend as much time with King Charles so that they can build bridges and enjoy each other’s company like before.”

Acknowledging the potential awkwardness of the situation, Harry is reportedly prepared to set aside “pride and differences” for the greater good of family harmony.

Harry’s commitment to reconciliation extends beyond his relationship with his father. The Duke of Sussex is said to be making efforts to mend fences with his brother, Prince William, especially given Princess Catherine’s recent health challenges.

“He wants the family to get back to the way they were and is going to be making extra effort with his brother Wills too, as difficult as it may be,” the source added.

“Now, more than ever, with Kate’s cancer diagnosis too, Harry wants them to know he is there for them.”

However, Meghan’s firm stance demanding an apology from William and Catherine before any reconciliation may throw a wrench in these plans, underscoring the complexity of the royal dynamics and the challenges ahead in bridging the divide.
