Lisa Curry marks three years since her mother’s passing with heartfelt tribute

Three years after the devastating loss of her mother, Australian swimming icon Lisa Curry has taken a moment to reflect on their special bond.

Earlier this week, Curry shared an emotional video montage on Instagram, showcasing cherished memories with her mum, who passed away on March 3, 2022, at the age of 86.

“Thinking of my mum all day today. 3 years since we said goodbye but she’s always around. 🤍👼🏻 Mums are amazing … make sure you call yours,” Curry wrote in her heartfelt post.

The tribute quickly drew an outpouring of support from fans, many offering love and condolences to Curry.

“Thinking of you Lisa, you look like your dear mum. Too many losses in such a short time. xx,” one wrote.

“She was your biggest fan may she be watching over you always.”

“Lisa such a beautiful daughter and Mum so much love,” commented another.

“Sending you love and hugs Lisa.”

In March 2022, Curry announced the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing in a poignant social media post, expressing how deeply the loss had affected her.

“Our beautiful mum slipped away peacefully this morning,” Curry wrote at the time.

“My heart is broken again.

“My baby girl, and now my mum.”

Curry’s Instagram caption detailed how her brother had travelled for 48 hours from Berlin to the Sunshine Coast to visit their sick mother, who had waited patiently for his arrival.

A heartbroken Curry described how the family shared laughs, memories and tears as they enjoyed their last moments with their loved one.

Curry ended the post with a heartfelt thank you to her late mum, wishing her love and peace.

“Thank you for being a wonderful mother,” she wrote.

“Have a nice long sleep mum. We love you so much and we’ll all miss you.”
