Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes has confirmed his highly-anticipated return to the stage following his recent health battle, much to the delight of fans across the country.
The iconic singer, known for his powerful voice and electrifying performances, took to social media to announce when he will be “getting back on stage” following a notable absence following recent health woes which resulted in him undergoing open heart surgery.
“I’ve got a few very exciting things to announce this morning,” he began.
“I can’t wait to get back on stage, in front of the band and playing for you all. So.. I’m happy to announce that my first show back on stage this year will be at the legendary @bluesfestbyronbay, where I’ll be playing a special Flesh and Wood 30th anniversary show.
“It’s also Bluesfest’s 35th anniversary so it’s going a lot of fun. Grab your tickets and I’ll see you there in just over a month.
“Also, as part of the 30th anniversary of Flesh and Wood, we’re releasing a limited edition sand-coloured vinyl re-issue of the album, which I’ll also be signing. These are available for pre-order now from the Jimmy Barnes Official Store, here (link in bio): shop.jimmybarnes.com
“Next up, after we’ve finished the @redhotsummertour in April, I’m going to be heading out across the country for my ‘Hell of a Time’ Tour, which will be a stripped back, intimate, regional theatre tour starting in June in Perth, and going through until mid August where I’ll be finishing at the Sydney Opera House.
“Finally, I really want to thank everyone for their support and good wishes while I was ill. The family were passing on your messages of care and it really lifted my spirits.”

News of Barnes return to performing comes as a promising step in his ongoing recovery after being hospitalised in late November last year due to bacterial pneumonia. Later he shocked fans with the revelation that he was set to undergo open-heart surgery after the infection spread.
“Unfortunately I got some bad news late yesterday … despite everyone’s best efforts the bacterial infection I’ve been battling over the last fortnight has apparently now spread to my heart,” he said at the time
“It’s infected an otherwise healthy valve that was replaced some years ago due to a congenital defect, so I’ll be getting open-heart surgery over the next few hours to clear out this infection and put in a clean valve.
“Obviously this is going to take me out of action for a while. I know lots of other people are battling even worse things but it still feels hugely frustrating.
“Just a few weeks ago I was the fittest I’ve been in decades!”
Defying concerns from fans, Barnes swiftly advanced in his recovery, consistently sharing encouraging updates. Whether flashing his trademark smile from the hospital bed or strolling through the corridors, the Working Class Man hitmaker showcased remarkable progress.
