It seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue to enjoy their life in the US after President Donald Trump ruled out deporting the pair.
The couple has previously drawn the ire of Trump, with Meghan having been a vocal critic of the newly elected president and Harry triggering questions as to why he was allowed into the US in 2020 after referencing cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms use in his book Spare.
During a 2024 interview with GB News, Trump was asked if Harry should have special privileges if he was found to have lied on his visa application, Trump said “no” at the time.
“We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action,” he added.
However, it would appear that Harry and Meghan are safe for now after Trump said he wasn’t interested in throwing Harry out of the country while taking a swipe at Meghan.
“I don’t want to do that,” he told the New York Post.
“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
The news will likely come as a relief to Harry, especially since he has said his new life in the US is one his late mother, Princess Diana, would have wanted.
Speaking at The New York Times DealBook Summit late last year, Harry expressed his happiness with the life he has built with his wife and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, in California.
“I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here,” he said.
“It’s a part of my life that I never thought that I was gonna live.
“I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.
“To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the U.K. — it’s huge.”
