Heartwarming new photo shared in celebration of John Farnham’s birthday

On Monday, July 1, the nation took a moment to wish Aussie entertainment legend John Farnham a happy 75th birthday.

As heartfelt birthday wishes flooded in from all corners of the country, fans were treated to a “fabulous” new photo of the beloved singer, shared by his son Robert.

His son delighted Farnham’s fans by sharing a touching snapshot of the two of them together at Robert’s recent wedding.

“Happy birthday Dad. Love you,” he wrote alongside the moving image.

Fans were overjoyed at the latest glimpse of the beloved entertainer, taking to social media to wish Farnham a happy birthday while thanking Robert for sharing the “beautiful” photo.

“What an icon. Brings me so much joy seeing recent photos of him after his major surgery. Thank you for sharing. He is loved so much!!” one wrote.

“Happy birthday legend! Hope you have a fantastic year.”

“Happiest of birthday wishes to you John. I’m sure your boys and family have spoiled you rotten. Thanks for sharing your beautiful dad,” commented another.

Robert wasn’t the only member of the Farnham clan to wish the You’re The Voice hitmaker all the best on his big day. His son, James, also marked the occasion on social media by sharing a nostalgic photo of him alongside his dad at what seems to be a costume party.

Public appearances from Farnham have been few and far between since Farnham underwent surgery and treatment for mouth cancer in August 2022. 

Despite enduring multiple surgeries, eight weeks of radiation therapy, and overcoming several challenges, Farnham received the “all-clear” from doctors in July 2023 and was declared cancer free.

While fans were excited to learn of Farnham’s positive health news they were equally excited when they were treated to the first glimpse of the legendary Australian singer late last year.

The heartening revelation came in the form of a candid photo posted by his son, James, on Instagram, capturing a precious family moment during their Christmas celebration.

In the first photo shared online since Farnham’s cancer diagnosis, his wife Jillian stood beside him, wrapping her arm around him as they shared a smile.

“Merry merry to everyone! Hope you all have a safe and fun day!!!! Love yaz all!” James wrote.

Farnham is widely considered one of Australia’s most popular performers and is known for his highly successful 1986 album Whispering Jack which became the biggest-selling Australian album of all time by a local artist and held the top spot on the charts for 25 weeks. In the same year his solo single You’re the Voice also reached the number one spot.
