Iconic crooner Sir Tom Jones often talks about his singing heroes, from Jerry Lee Lewis to Aretha Franklin, so the Welsh dynamo surprised many when he listed a classic folk track as his “favourite songs of all time.”

Reddit readers came upon Jones’ admission when a social media user shared an interview about stars discussing their favourite Bob Dylan songs to the site.

In an interview with The Guardian, Jones admitted he was less than impressed with Dylan’s singing at first but shared the moment he became a fan of the Mr Tambourine Man singer.

“I wasn’t struck by Dylan’s voice at first,” he said.

“But then I heard ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’, and I’ve been a fan ever since. The lyrics are fantastic.

“He’s basically asking, ‘How many times do we have to go through all this s–t before we realise that we’re f—-ing up the world?'”

The 84-year-old superstar explained how he fell in love with the song and revealed why he was struck by Dylan’s talent.

“He paints pictures with his songs so you can see things happening,” he said.

“It’s the same with What Good Am I (1989), which I’ve recorded.

“What good am I if I just stand by and let things happen that I know I should be changing?

“He was the first singer-songwriter to make me think.”

Meanwhile, Jones continues to surprise his adoring fans as he opened up to his colleagues on an episode of The Voice.

While he still delivers incredible performances at sold-out shows, the singing sensation admits that he wonders how long his voice will last.

The Delilah singer admitted that he was surprised by his career longevity and could not believe how strong his voice still sounded.

“As the years go on, you think ‘How long is this voice going to last?’” he said.

“I’m on stage and I open up and there it is and I think ‘Is that voice coming from me?’ and that’s the God’s honest truth, you know’.”

However, the She’s A Lady singer believed that the joy of performing worked like a fountain of youth.

“It’s a wonderful life, you know, show business,” Jones told his fellow judges.
