Although he is rarely seen in public these days, legendary actor Sir Michael Caine made an exception recently while celebrating his 90th birthday in a star-studded affair.
The Alfie star celebrated his milestone birthday at London’s The River Cafe alongside his wife, Shakira, and several fellow celebrities including Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise and David Walliams of Little Britain fame.
Walliams treated fans to a series of photos from the night’s celebrations in a post to Instagram while wishing the star all the best for his birthday.
“Happy 90th Birthday to the legendary Sir Michael Caine,” Walliams wrote.

Loose Women talk show host Denise Welch was also in attendance, who also took to social media to express her “honour” at being asked “to say a few words at Sir Michael Caines’ 90th birthday”.
Welch also shared a snippet of her speech which left the crowd in stitches, particularly Cruise.
“He loves a dirty joke and so does @tomcruise it appears!!!! Great night and amazing company,” Welch wrote alongside her post.

His inspiration to become an actor was Hunphrey Bogart. He took his name from the Bogart movie, The Caine Mutiny. I guess Mike Casablanca was taken.

In Caine’s 90 years, he has appeared in over 160 films across an impressive career that has spanned seven decades.
Caine is best known for his role as Alfie Elkins in the 1966 film Alfie and has since gone on to appear in a number of successful films such as the multi-award-winning film Interstellar, to the crass comedy Austin Powers in Goldmember and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
