Runway models were nearly upstaged by the fashion icons Sharon Stone and Helen Mirren as they attended the Dolce & Gabanna Alta Moda show in Siracusa, Sicily, on Saturday, July 9.

While the two divas were in the audience, they quickly became the main attraction, stealing the show in outfits as colourful as their personalities.

In a video posted by Vogue Italy, Stone, 64, and Mirren, 76, can be seen laughing as they pose alongside singing sensation Mariah Carey, 53.

For the Alta Modal 10-year anniversary show, Mirren arrived at the event and wowed in a regal Dolce & Gabbana metallic rainbow ensemble. The custom ball gown featured big puff sleeves, two-toned gemstones around the waist, and boasted a full skirt that fanned out behind her.

Ensuring all attention was directed to her gown, Mirren wore her silver locks in a sleek centre-parted low bun, opted to only wear classic drop-style earrings for her jewellery, and had her nails painted a pale nude.

Meanwhile, Stone donned a more body-hugging look. The Basic Instinct actress wore a racy gold corset top with red jewels that she paired with turquoise satin trousers that featured a train adorned with colourful, hand-painted florals.

For accessories, Stone wore layers of long, gold, chunky necklaces and chunky gold bracelet. She also boosted her height with a pair of matching gold heels and swept her blonde hair back into her sleek cropped do.

The union of such influential women in one lavish event drove fans wild.

“Mega stars!!” one person commented.

“Iconic!!!,” another added.

“Well they all look bloomin lovely,” writes another.

Both Mirren and Stone offer unique contributions to the entertainment world, as both have found empowerment in ageing.

For Stone, after experiencing a near-fatal stroke, she says she’s grateful for her body for carrying her through day after day.

While Mirren prefers to call it “growing up” instead of ageing.

“You have to continue working on yourself to a certain extent,” she recently told People for the outlet’s 2022 Beautiful Issue. “[It’s] simple really: Getting older. It happens. Other people call it growing older, but I call it growing up. And one of the advantages is that you literally get to be wiser. Life is a constant process of learning.”
