Olivia Newton-John’s only daughter is continuing to keep her mother’s memory alive, by sharing sentimental footage of her late mother performing a beautiful song that they had worked on together.

In a post made on Instagram on Thursday, November 10, Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, revealed that she shared her mum’s passion for music and songwriting, and had even collaborated with her mum on a song for an album to help raise money for cancer research.

“One of the greatest joys mama and I shared was our love of music and writing together,” the 36-year-old began her post.

“One Christmas, I pretended to not be interested in writing with her, only to surprise her with these lyrics I had written in a CD box on the piano as a Christmas gift titled Can I Trust Your Arms.

“She then wrote the most beautiful melody to them.”

Lattanzi then detailed the “hard time” she experienced that inspired her to write the song.

“I was sick and my mama was desperate to help me, but no one could help but me,” she wrote.

“My journey was to be where I was at that point in time. I didn’t know how to ask for help or let anyone in. This was my way of telling her what I was feeling.

“When I watch her sing, I watch her feeling her daughter. I watch a mother’s love.”

She continues to explain how she believes her mum was more than a performer, saying that her “mama’s” voice was “healing”.

Lattanzi finished off her post by saying: “I love you every moment of my waking and sleeping existence.”

“You walk with me now. Every step I take. Every move I make I feel absolutely guided by you. I love you soulmate.”

In the video clip that Lattanzi shared, Newton-John can be heard telling concertgoers how she “couldn’t believe how beautiful they [lyrics] were and how insightful they were for such a young woman”.

“I was so touched by it that I sat down at the piano and wrote it right away. This is what I wrote,” she said before playing the song.

Fans of the late Grease star flocked to Latanzzi’s comment section, thanking her for sharing the moving performance and praising her for her lyrics.

“You did amazing with those Lyrics and your mom sang it beautifully. I actually have that CD and read the story about how this song came to be. I know it was one of those gifts you couldn’t put a price on when you handed her that case.”

“This song has touched my heart since the first time I heard it years ago!”

“I literally get chills and get emotional every time I listen to this song, you wrote such powerful lyrics that I think so many people can relate too. You are and have such a gift and I can’t imagine what a surprise this must have been for your mom to have received this amazing gift on Christmas morning.”

“Chills everywhere! I always got emotional when I would hear her sing. What a beautiful soul.”

Since Newton-John’s death in early August, Lattanzi has been very candid about her grief. Often sharing her emotions on social media with throwback photos of her and her late mum, alongside gutwrenching captions.

Lattanzi has also vowed to “carry the torch” for her mum to find holistic treatments to “put an end to all the suffering cancer causes for countless beings around the planet.”

She is now officially working alongside her cousin Tottie Goldsmith, who is a goodwill ambassador for the treatment centre, and the expert specialists to continue to provide access to world-class treatments for Australians battling cancer.
