Nicole Kidman has stripped down for her latest glamorous magazine shoot for Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood issue.

While the concept of the highly anticipated 28th annual Hollywood issue was intended to celebrate Kidman’s recent accomplishments, it’s the shoot accompanying her interview that has gained the most attention.

In the cover photo, Kidman, who was recently nominated for the ‘Best Actress’ Oscar for her portrayal as Lucille Ball in Being The Ricardos is pictured standing, with bare arms outstretched holding a gate open, with her toned torso fully exposed, while wearing a denim bikini top and matching mini skirt.

The photo has sparked online outrage, many alleging the publication had gone overboard in photoshopping the 54-year-old’s body.

“She is a beautiful woman and can do whatever she wants with her body. It‘s a criticism of the magazine’s stylistic choices and insane airbrushing,” wrote one Twitter user.

“This literally looks like they took her head and …’ Shopped it onto a completely different body,” said another.

Others had also questioned the styling choice for the shoot, with one asking why the actress was dressed like a teenager for the HBO drama series, ‘Euphoria’- a show where high school students navigate the world of drugs and sex.

“I’m less concerned with whether her body is “real” or not, or healthy or not, or how photoshopped she is or isn’t than wondering why she’s styled like an early 90’s teen pop star,” wrote another.

However, other Twitter users argued that the actress looked stunning and virtually the same.

“What, I thought this was an old cover. Jesus, she looks great,” commented one user.

“I think she looks fantastic and can wear whatever she wants and look fabulous and I support her,” said another

The latest Vanity Fair Hollywood issue also includes eight other solo covers featuring Idris Elba, Penelopé Cruz, Kristen Stewart, Benedict Cumberbatch, Simu Liu, Andrew Garfield and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.

This issue will be available for digital download and on newsstands on Friday, February 25.
