It’s been just over a year since Kerri-Anne Kennerley farewelled her beloved husband, John, and now the TV host has shared a heartwarming tribute.

Kerri-Anne wished fans a happy Easter, sharing a throwback photo of her late husband with her 45k Instagram followers on Sunday. In the photo, John is smiling and holding a toy rabbit. She then shared a second image of the family dog holding that same rabbit this year.

“Wishing everyone a safe and happy Easter,” she wrote. “Reflecting on all wonderful memories of love, fun, warmth, and joy during this time.”

Many fans were quick to comment, with one writing: “You carry him in your heart now Kerri. Sending you love this Easter.”

In 2016, John became paralysed from the neck down following an accident at a Coffs Harbour golf course. He was 75 at the time. Kerri-Anne cared for him in the years that followed, all the way up until his sudden death in February last year.

The TV personality announced her businessman husband’s passing on Instagram in a moving post. The couple were married for 35 years.

“It’s with a heavy heart and awful sadness that I let you know that my beautiful husband John passed away last night,” she wrote at the time. “As you all know, John has faced some tremendous challenges over the past few years and with each he has been extraordinarily brave and determined to overcome those hurdles and live a normal life.

While another said: “I’m sorry for your loss. Sending love and light to you.” A third added: “Omg Kerrianne I am so, so sorry to hear. What a duo you were for so many loyal years. Thinking of you and sending love.”
