Newly single Julie Bishop is once again turning heads on the red carpet after she paraded into the Crown Sydney on Friday night, August 19, to attend the Street Side Medics’ first-ever gala.

The 66-year-old former Foreign Minister took to Instagram to share her latest look, showing her followers that she’s gone a little less traditional for her gala ensemble, attending the formal affair with a cropped puffer jacket.

“Friday night dress code: Black Tie with touch of street wear,” she captioned the post.

The glamorous socialite beamed at the paparazzi as she posed up a storm in her black David Jones “Halston” gown.

The dress’s upper torso was covered in black sequences while its long, figure-hugging skirt was simply black, and pooled at the base of Bishop’s feet.

She paired the gown with a Dion Lee cropped bomber jacket zipped at its base, giving a cheeky peek at her gown sequenced top.

Her short blonde hair was swept back and opted for a glowy make-up look which featured a subtle smokey eye, a bronzey blush and a swipe of glossy nude lipstick.

To complete her gala look, Bishop wore dangling silver earrings, a silver statement ring, and a silver watch. To add a pop of colour to her all-black ensemble, she painted her nails pink.

Since sharing her look on social media, Bishop’s comment section has been flooded with compliments from fans and celebrities.

“Love this fusion of formal and street wear! Gorgeous on you,” one fan wrote.

“Look at you go. Poli turned fashionista,” another commented.

“Impeccable styling. You blow me away with every post. Fantastic cause to support,” said a third.

Bishop’s latest red carpet debut comes just weeks after making her first public appearance at the David Jones Spring/ Summer 2022 fashion since her breakup with long-time boyfriend David Panton.

To mark her first outing as a single woman, Bishop arrived at the venue wearing a metallic Balmain long-sleeved mini-dress which was soon dubbed as her own version of Princess Diana’s “revenge dress”.

Despite being all smiles and catching up with friends at the Street Side Medics Gala, Bishop admitted to Daily Mail Australia she was the “last person to give advice” to those going through their own breakup but insisted she is “content” and “fulfilled” with being single.

“My life post-politics has been very fulfilling,” she said told the publication.

“Life is proceeding at the same pace as it was in politics, except I get to choose what I want to do.”

Bishop had previously told Confidential she’s been “very busy” since her split with Panton, sharing that she’s been keeping herself distracted by attending charity events and engagements around Australia.
