Is there anything Julie Bishop can’t do? The former foreign affairs minister may be turning 65 later this year, but it appears she is the fittest she’s ever been, and recently surprised fans after uploading a video of herself doing a handstand — with perfect form and control, no less.

Julie was chatting with Australian comedian Joel Creasey on the new Channel 10 talk show What The Hell Just Happened? when she showed off her impressive moves. According to Mumbrella, the show will see 20 celebrities “reflect on the year that was, and what could possibly lie ahead”.

“I perfected a handstand,” Julie can be heard saying in the video, which she shared on her personal Instagram account last week. The clip then cuts to Julie doing a pretty impressive handstand, much to Joel’s surprise. “OMG, you actually can,” he says in the video. “You’re putting me to shame! I can’t do anything.”

In true Julie style, the former pollie wore a pair of stylish black fitted jeans, a crisp white blouse, Louis Vuitton sneakers and a pair of large, diamond drop earrings for the segment.

Fans of Julie’s were equally impressed by her efforts, with one writing, “What a machine.” Another questioned, “Is there anything this woman can’t do?” While a third commented, “Just when I thought I couldn’t love her any more.” Others labelled the former pollie a “legend”.

Julie is known for being quite the fitness junkie. She attended a yoga retreat in Western Australia with friends just last month, which saw her practising daily, enjoying some down time at the beach, and posing up a storm in a leopard-print swimsuit.

Julie famously stepped away from politics in 2018, and it looks like she has no plans of returning anytime soon. The 64-year-old told The Daily Telegraph in September last year that she doesn’t miss her old job at all.

“I had 20 years as a member of parliament and five as foreign minister and that was a huge honour to represent Australia on the world stage,” she said at the time. “After 20 years, it is time to move on and I have. I am loving my life in the private sector as chancellor of the Australian National University.”

Julie is also on the advisory board of Afiniti, a software company focused on developing artificial intelligence for use in customer call centres, and is on the board at the international consultancy Palladium.
