While presenting the In Memoriam segment during the 95th Academy Awards, John Travolta has broken down in tears as he delivered a special nod to his close friend Olivia Newton-John.
As the 69-year-old invited the attendees and those watching at home to take a moment to remember those in the entertainment industry who had passed away, the Grease star was overcome with emotion while referencing an iconic line from the 1978 classic.
“Since tonight is a celebration of the work and the accomplishments of our community in this past year, it is only fitting that we celebrate those that we’ve lost who dedicated their lives to their craft both in front of and behind the camera through their immeasurable contributions each of them left and individual and indelible mark that shared and that formed us,” he began.
“They’ve touched our hearts. They’ve made us smile and they became dear friends who we will always remain hopelessly devoted to.”
Gone but certainly not forgotten. Take a moment to look back in remembrance of the artists and filmmakers we lost in 2022-2023. #Oscars95 https://t.co/zbvG5Kusle
