Today host Karl Stefanovic was overcome with emotion on Friday morning’s episode after he received an early Father’s Day present from his adorable four-month-old daughter Harper May. With Father’s Day just around the corner, co-host Allison Langdon devised a plan to surprise Karl and sports presenter Alex Cullen with cute videos from their children.
“I really hope you boys have a fantastic Father’s Day on Sunday,” she said. “I’ve actually got an early present for you both.”
The screen then cut to baby Harper lying in her mother’s arm. Karl’s wife Jasmine Yarbrough could be heard saying in the background: “Happy Father’s Day daddy, I love you.” The pair tied the knot in December 2018 and welcomed their first child together earlier this year.
“That’s so cute,” Karl said. “She’s a beauty, isn’t she?”
The video then cut to Alex’s wife Bonnie Campbell, and their twin girls Evie and Audrey sitting in matching white bathrobes. “Thank you for all the work you do for us,” Bonnie can be heard saying. “We love you so much. Thank you for all the nappy changes and for your amazing emu personation.”
Many fans were quick to comment on the sweet gesture, with one writing: “Just beautiful Ally to do that for your colleagues, what an awesome team you guys make.”
Another added: “Adorable children.” While a third wrote: “Absolutely beautiful. Happy Father’s Day to you both Karl and Alex.”
It comes just a few days after Karl’s wife shared a brand new photo of beautiful baby Harper relaxing in a striped onesie.
The 36-year-old shoe designer posted the image on Instagram Wednesday night, with the caption: “Hump Day Vibes!” She added the hashtag: “Rancho relaxo.” The sweet photo shows baby Harper resting on the carpet with her hands behind her head.
Jasmine’s sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys, who also recently welcomed her first child Oscar into the world with Karl’s younger brother Peter, was first to comment on the adorable post, writing: “Loooooove.”
Karl, who has three other children, Jackson, River and Ava, from his first marriage with journalist Cassandra Thorburn, also revealed that Harper has started eating solids in the weekly newsletter for the popular breakfast program.
“Little Harper May has expressed great interest in solid foods,” he wrote. “The little one has been eyeing off the avocado smash for some time now and yesterday we finally relented. Awww… our little girl is growing up. If any of you have any advice on the best solid foods for bubs I’m all ears.”
