Christie Brinkley has stunned in a series of bikini-clad shots just days after revealing to fans she underwent a hip replacement. The 66-year-old model took to social media to share four saucy snaps of herself on a tropical beach standing against a rock alongside the caption: “Cliffhanger.”

The blonde bombshell showed off her stunning figure in the photos, donning a blue triangle bikini top with a pair of tight black bike shorts. Christie looked happy and healthy in the pictures as she posed with a big grin on her face.

Christie revealed the surprising news on her Instagram page alongside a snap of herself sitting on a boat showing off her toned legs. The caption detailed how she had finally received surgery on her hip after putting it off for 12 years.

“New Year, New Hip!” the caption read. “Yes that’s a band aid on my hip. I injured my hip in a back country skiing helicopter crash on a mountaintop in Telluride many years ago. The pain in my hip got a little bit worse each year.

“12 years ago I was told it needed to be replaced but the surgery was daunting! And I had things to do! But quarantine put a damper on any plans so I decided to finally take time for myself and do something about the pain that had progressively influenced my decisions.”

The statement went on to say that she underwent surgery during Thanksgiving in November and was up and “dancing in her kitchen” by New Years Eve. Christie then said she was lucky enough to be able to be now go swimming and snorkelling with her new hip helping her out.

Fans wished the model well in the comments of her heartfelt post with one writing: “You’re always inspiring no matter what you do Christie, thank you for sharing … and reminding us it is indeed possible to look as gorgeous as you over 60!”
