In a bold and cheeky move, renowned English-Australian comedian Miriam Margolyes is baring it all for her first-ever Vogue cover shoot.
The 82-year-old actress, known for her iconic role as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter franchise, left little to the imagination as she graced the July cover of British Vogue.
Though the magazine’s latest photoshoot features several renowned icons, it was Margolyes who stole the spotlight with her eye-popping photos.
One of the standout snaps from the shoot session shows Margolyes seated at a table surrounded by delicious iced Chelsea buns, delicate doilies, and a cup of steaming black tea.
But the real showstopper was the comedian herself, posing in nothing but a pearl necklace, earrings, vibrant red lipstick, and matching crimson red nail polish.

In another shot, Margolyes wears a black fuzzy cape with a matching black fascinator. Her regal looks continued as she was then snapped wearing a stunning black gown, complete with a royal blue coat and vibrant red shoes.
But it doesn’t end there, Margolyes was then captured wearing an elegant houndstooth coat, perfectly matched with a wide-brimmed black saucer hat.
For her last look, Margolyes flaunted a retro-inspired outfit, complete with hair in rollers and a sheer white dress with billowing fabric and a high neckline.
Fans were overjoyed by the comedian’s photos and couldn’t help but take to social media to share their reactions.
“Oh Miriam, what a breath of fresh air you are,” one person wrote.
“How refreshing, fun, frivolity and no one taking umbrage!”
“Thank you for doing this editorial – please make a list of all the legendary artists you would never have seen in the pages of a pre-2010 Vogue, and put those people on the cover because this is iconic.”
“Also this is the best Vogue photo shoot I have seen. Love it.”
“Yes! More people like this wonderful human in vogue please”
Though her Vogue debut does come as a shock, Margolyes has always been one to live in the moment, and like many Baby Boomers, still embraces everything that comes her way.
Margolyes also now joins the growing list of older women who have recently been featured on the covers of prominent magazines.
Last month, lifestyle guru Marth Stewart made history as the oldest woman to grace the magazine cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Meanwhile, fellow actress Jamie Lee Curtis posed naked in nature for her photoshoot with The New York Times. And Jane Seymour became Playboy’s oldest model, posing for the magazine for a campaign to “celebrate” women her age.
