Singing sensation Rod Stewart has thanked his fans for their “wonderful birthday wishes” while reflecting on his “incredible” life as he celebrated turning “80 years young” on Friday, January 10.
Stewart marked the milestone occasion by sharing a series of photos on social media, showcasing moments from his live performances, time spent with family and friends, and his knighthood by Prince William at Buckingham Palace.
Alongside the photos, Stewart included a heartfelt message, promising that there are plenty of memories “still to come.”
“Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes – 80 years young!” he wrote.
“What an incredible journey it’s been – from unforgettable moments on and off the stage to earning some truly special honors along the way. But above all, my greatest joy has always been performing for you. Cheers to the memories we’ve made and the ones still to come! #80YearsOfRod.”

Fans were quick to offer their birthday wishes to Stewart, thanking him for years of entertainment.
“Happy Happy birthday Sir Rod!! Wishing you all the best! You’ll always be Forever Young!” one wrote.
“Saw you with Billy Joel in Cleveland. What a show you put on. Hoping to see you in Pittsburgh this year. Happy 80 years young Birthday to you.”
“One of the Best. Happy Birthday Sir Rod,” commented another.
“Thank you so much for everything you have given us, Mr. Stewart. Then, now and always, first on my playlist. Happy birthday.”
Despite turning the big 8-0, the rock icon has no plans to slow down and is determined to make the most of the years ahead. During a recent interview with The Sun, Stewart shared his candid thoughts on life and what the future holds.
“I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear,” he said.
“We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.
“I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can.
“I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”
Despite getting older, Stewart admits he still “goes mad” with the booze after each show but acknowledges that he has toned it down somewhat since his heyday.
“I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that,” he said.
“Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
“The older you get, the more you have to do that. Water has a hell of a lot to do with it. But no, you think I just have water on my rider?
“You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.”
When asked if there was anything else he wanted to tick off his bucket list, he revealed that he’s perfectly content.
“I have had a good time and a good life and I’ve enjoyed myself, so I wouldn’t ask for anything more,” he said.
