There’s nothing less satisfying than being stuck with streaks on your windows after you spent a good chunk of time cleaning them.
But now it’s time to say goodbye streaky glass after a cleaning guru shared the “best method ever” for keeping your windows sparklingly clean.
Angela Ann Doherty, known as @cleaningwithangelaannd, has shared her method on social media and said the secret to smear-free windows is technique and timing.
In a video she uploaded to TikTok, Angela tells her viewers to only use a little bit of washing up liquid, then wash your windows with a microfiber cloth dipped in soapy water. Next, she uses her secret weapon -a shammy – to buff up the windows and leave them sparklingly clean, but she advises an important point to her viewers.
Surprisingly, don’t clean your windows on a sunny day: “The sun reacts with the bubbles and causes smears,” she said.

Another problem area to clean can often be the bathroom shower screen, but there are other handy ways to bring those grimy glass panels back to their crystal clear best.
Try these four natural cleaning products, some of which you probably already have in your cupboard, and watch your shower glass return to its shiny best.
Start by rinsing the glass thoroughly with water. Simply pour lemon juice onto a soft dampened sponge and wipe over the glass surface. Leave the lemon juice to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with clean water. Dry glass to a sparkle with a paper towel.
Cheap and natural, white vinegar can be used almost anywhere in the home. Simply pour white vinegar into a spray bottle. If you like, you can dilute the solution to 50/50 part vinegar and water. Spray the vinegar solution over the glass and leave for a few minutes. Work over the stains and limescale with a soft sponge to remove any residue. Rinse well and wipe clean with a paper towel. Repeat if needed.
To tackle difficult stains baking soda is the way to go. Make a thick paste by mixing baking soda with a little water. Spread the paste over the glass surface using a soft dampened sponge. Avoid using coarse brushes as they could scratch the glass. After a few minutes, rinse and wipe clean.
While toothpaste does a great job of cleaning your teeth, it is also a fantastic glass cleaner. Apply a generous amount of toothpaste to a dampened sponge, and work it over the glass surface. Finish with a thorough rinse and wipe.
