Priscilla Presley shows how to easily jazz up simple black trousers

She’s 74 years young and Priscilla Presley has shown that you don’t need to fork out big money on fantastic frocks and elegant dresses to look fashionable. In fact, the former wife of the late Elvis Presley recently stepped out in a trendy outfit in Los Angeles earlier this week that any woman could pull together with items in their closet.

Chances are you’ve got a pair of black trousers (or two) in your wardrobe and that’s exactly what the Dallas star wore for her appearance on Hallmark’s Home & Family variety show at Universal Studios on Friday. Black pants are great because they can be worn for both formal and casual occasions and what you team them with can make all the difference.

The mother-of-two showed that you can’t go wrong by keeping things simple and wore an embroidered black shirt with cut-out floral patterns on the front. The top included sheer black fabric for the sleeves and a white collar and cuffs to add a burst of contrast to the look.

Of course, Priscilla also accessorised with a pair of fashionable pumps to give her look some extra sophistication and wore her trademark locks in a straight style for her appearance. And while not technically part of her outfit, she was also spotted on set playing with an adorable pooch!

Just last month, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant showed that you can also do the same if you own a simple black skirt. Priscilla stepped out in New York City in a standard black shirt, but accessorised with a chic white jacket with pink and purple floral patterns to make her outfit pop.

Teamed with a colourful pair of heels, a trendy pair of glasses and even a clutch, it’s a look that could be worn for a special night out or to celebrate something special with your family and friends. As she always does, Priscilla also coordinated her lipstick to match her hair, which can make a look feel a whole lot more personal.

The star’s latest looks come just weeks after she and Elvis’ adoring fans celebrated the music icon on the 42nd anniversary since his passing. Speaking on the US version of Today at the time, Priscilla explained how fans of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll travel to Graceland each year to celebrate his life and music.

“People just want more and more and more,” she told the show’s hosts. “They can’t get enough so it’s really trying to fill the askings of the public who want to see what we have going.”

The star said her late ex-partner wouldn’t believe that people still cared about him more than 40 years after his death and admitted that she gets emotional when she sees fans gathering in droves to celebrate the singer. The annual celebration at Graceland includes concerts, vigils, food events and stories told by those who knew Elvis the most.

During the interview, Priscilla also revealed that her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was “doing well” and said that she thought her grandchildren were very talented.

“They were in ballet and dance class and opera, so they’re testing the waters a little bit,” she said, while also revealing that Elvis’ family is very involved in the upcoming Baz Luhrmann biopic about the late musician.

“Baz has been over to my home a couple of times for lunch with his beautiful wife and we talk about all the wonderful things he wants to do with the film,” she said. “It’s going to be a very interesting picture.”
