Patricia Clarkson stuns in figure-hugging blue gown at film premiere

She may be pushing 60, but like most Baby Boomers, Patricia Clarkson knows age is no barrier when it comes to looking smoking hot. 

The US actress, 58, wowed onlookers at a press conference for her new film The Bookshop at the 68th Berlinale International Film Festival last week and had all eyes on her as she strutted the red carpet in a striking blue evening gown. 

Clarkson, known for her roles in The Green Mile and Dogville, posed for photographers in a figure-hugging dress that showed off her enviable physique. The gown featured a long train and a high split up the leg.

She accessorised the outfit with black heels, chunky gold bracelets and a black clutch, which bore the message “women of the world unite!” — a reference to the #Metoo movement. 

The US actress wore her hair brushed out with a slight way and added a pop of colour to her look with blushed cheeks and bright-pink lips.

The Bookshop is a Spanish, British and German co-produced drama film directed Isabel Coixet. Based on the novel by Penelope Fitzgerald, the film follows a woman’s struggle to bring literary culture to a small English town and c0-stars Bill Nye and Emily Mortimer. 

While she’s not a star that features regularly in mainstream media, Clarkson has been working in Hollywood for over 30 years and has proved her acting chops alongside some of the industries biggest names, including Tom Hanks, Sean Penn and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Her next big role comes is in mini-series Sharp Objects, due to be released this year, and also starring fellow US actress Amy Adams. The series follows the story of a crime reporter fresh out of a psychiatric hospital, who’s first assignment back on the job is to investigate the murder of two little girls in her home town.
