Some of the biggest stars in Australian TV and politics have joined forces to fill a glamorous awards bash with colour.

Everyone from Lisa Wilkinson and Julie Bishop, to Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Georgie Gardner dazzled at the Women of the Future Awards in Sydney on Wednesday, showing off some incredible dresses as they posed for photos outside.

Lisa proudly shared her moment in the limelight with her lookalike daughter Billi as she dazzled in a bright frock. The 58-year-old star opted for an ankle-length loose yellow wrap-around dress and sky-high gold stilettos, matching them perfectly with a small clutch bag and large statement earrings.

However, her choice of footwear wasn’t enough to help her match Billi’s towering height, as the youngster chose beige heels and a short blue and white floral dress for her moment in the spotlight. Wrapping up in a smart navy blazer, Billi looked elegant alongside her famous mum as they flashed matching smiles for photos outside.

Meanwhile, former deputy leader of the Liberal party Julie Bishop kept her look more understated in fitted black trousers and a patterned black and grey blazer. She put on a loved up display with her partner David Panton, and was pictured smiling up at him happily as they posed side by side.

Elsewhere, Kerri-Anne chose a quilted material for her own bright dress, opting for yellow like Lisa and showing off her legs in the knee-length number.

The new star of Studio 10 vamped up her look in netted black heels and completed it with a loose leather jacket, posing with her hand on one hip and smiling alongside a who’s who of Aussie stars.

She was joined there by Georgie who looked her usual stylish self in a flattering blue frock which fell just below her knee and clinched in at the waist to show off her figure.

Carrying a vibrant patterned bag, she added even more colour to the outfit and kept things classy in patent black heels.

It comes after Lisa recently revealed she looked the spitting image of her daughter in the 1970s, as she shared a throwback snap of her relaxing in the sun in a swimsuit at the time.

She wrote: “Jeez I loved a skinny brow back in the 70s, hey? And that Hawaiian print top was my absolute fave!

“This is me aged 17 on a family holiday to the Gold Coast… one of the very few shots I have from that time. I seem to remember I was very good at hiding from the cameras back then. And there was certainly no such thing as a ‘selfie’.”

The throwback seemed to ring true with many readers who also shared their own memories from the ’70s.

“It was a Friday night ritual with your best friend tweezers in hand… we plucked the crap out of them for perfection and now they need to be full and textured!” one fan wrote.

Another added: “I also had those eyebrows, they took forever to get thicker!! I also had a Hawaiian top and a wrap around skirt to match!!” And a third wrote: “What a fab photo! 70’s were the best.”
