She’s known for her impeccable sense of style and Julie Bishop pulled out all the stops on Tuesday as she tried her hand at motor racing in a striking leopard-print outfit.

The former foreign affairs minister looked incredible as she visited the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, opting for a leopard-print top and skintight jeans.

While the 63-year-old showed off her incredible figure, she also made a statement with her cropped hair do and stylish sneakers.

Sharing a series of photos on her Instagram page, Bishop wrote: “Such a fun day with all female #audidrivingexperience zooming around the track (although hitting reverse on the slalom was apparently a first) Thank you @audiaustralia.”

In one photo, the fashionable politician leaned up against an Audi car, while a second image showed the 62-year-old posing near an open car door.

At one point the former pollie added a beautiful long black coat to her fierce look as she posed for more pictures at the race track.

Meanwhile, Bishop also shared a series of photos from the thrill-seeking outing on her story, with one showing the former pollie behind the wheel.

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with many praising Bishop for her adventurous approach to life.

“I aspire to achieve this level of fierce,” one commentator wrote.

Another added: “Great work. [You’re] such a beautiful intelligent influential & adventuress [sic] woman that inspires so many of us.”

While the former deputy leader of the Liberal party has been busy keeping up appearances since announcing her shock resignation from politics months ago, Bishop recently revealed she’s landed a new job.

The 63-year-old is set to replace Gareth Evans as the next chancellor of the Australian National University (ANU), the establishment announced in a statement. Evans has been chancellor of the university since 2010.

“It is my immense honour to announce that the next Chancellor of The Australian National University will be The Hon. Julie Bishop,” the statement read.

“Continuing her long list of ‘firsts’, Julie will be our University’s first female Chancellor. Her three year term will begin on 1 January 2020.”

It comes just six months after Bishop went up against Scott Morrison and Peter Dutton for leadership of the Liberal Party following the ousting of Malcolm Turnbull.
