The beautiful Bishops! Julie and Angela strike a pose in dazzling dresses

They’ve enjoyed completely different careers in the Australian spotlight, but Julie Bishop and Angela Bishop both stole the show at a glamorous and star-studded bash in Sydney on Tuesday.

The pair joined a stream of famous faces at the Moet Imperial 150th Anniversary Event at Sydney Town Hall, striking a pose on the black carpet in front of the cameras outside.

Studio 10 star Angela couldn’t fail to impress as she opted for a floor-length and figure-hugging navy blue sequinned dress, which fell past her feet and ended in a beautiful short train behind her.

Wearing her blonde hair in soft waves and adding statement silver earrings, the 51-year-old star looked in her element as she flashed a huge smile.

Meanwhile, Julie has continued to enjoy her time out of the political spotlight as she once again pulled out all the stops for the bash.

Choosing a shimmering knee-length and equally figure-hugging dress, the 62-year-old former deputy Liberal leader modelled her ageless style in the outfit with sheer sleeves and silver beading over the thin black material. She stood tall beside her partner David Panton in black stilettos and matched the look with black and silver drop earrings.

Sharing a photo with her partner on Instagram, Julie wrote: “Marking 150th anniversary Möet Imperial @moetchandon and celebrating French-Australian relations with MC @jesinta_franklin and fabulous dinner by @guillaumebrahimi and loving @vancleefarpels @lorealaustralia @rachelgilbertau @harmonyandlawsonthelabel @girlswithgems.”

Fans complimented her on her latest look with one writing: “I love Julie Bishop. The classic example of pure class and elegance,” while another added: “So beautiful Julie x.”

The politician has been busy over the last few weeks and just days ago she joined Karl Stefanovic and his new wife Jasmine at the annual Gold Dinner in Sydney, a fundraiser that raises money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

Julie was dazzling once again on that occasion in a silver metallic gown with dramatic tassels and sequinned detailing, as she posed with her partner David.

Adding some classic pearls to her wrist and showing off her signature cropped hair do, Julie couldn’t fail to impress in the beautiful outfit, while her partner chose a smart tuxedo.
