Glamorous Helen Mirren shows off timeless style in elegant black dress

She’s become a fashion icon thanks to her impeccable style and Helen Mirren didn’t disappoint in the fashion department as she turned heads in an all-black ensemble at the weekend.

The British actress, 73, was all smiles as stepped out with her husband Taylor Hackford, 72, for the Evgeny Lebedev Christmas Party in London on Friday night.

Helen looked sensational in the elegant frock which she paired with a luxurious satin coat. The actress completed the ensemble with a pair of black boots, green earrings and kept her make-up classic with a rep lip.

So it’s no surprise that her director husband, who she has been married to since 1997, couldn’t have looked prouder as he wrapped his arm around Helen.

The couple were joined by numerous other stars at the party, including Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, Elizabeth Hurley and Robbie Williams.

Though she makes dressing up look effortless, Mirren revealed that she does have a bit of cosmetic help, which she reckons makes her look a lot better than she otherwise would. The actress recently had her eyebrows tattooed and now swears by the procedure.

“I was fed up of my brows barely being there, and when one of my girlfriends got it done, I thought they looked great“, she told Women & Home magazine in the UK. “They’re very lightly and delicately done, but it means that when I get up in the morning and I have no make-up on, at least I have eyebrows! It’s made a huge difference.”

Meanwhile, Helen proved she is every bit a fashion icon as she showed off yet another stylish outfit for an engagement earlier this year. Visiting the cast of ‘Imperium’ (a stage adaption of the Cicero trilogy of novels by Robert Harris), the star stunned in an eye-popping blue dress, which nipped her in at the waist before billowing out into a full-length skirt.

The 72-year-old actress completed the ensemble with a pair of zebra striped flats which featured multicoloured tassels, and kept her make-up classic with a rep lip.
