Bette Midler has turned on the glitz and glamour in a stunning magazine cover shoot celebrating the power of women.

The 73-year-old was absolutely glowing in the spread of photographs in Variety, posing confidently in a cream kaftan style dress embellished with a silver pattern on the front page of the mag.

With her blonde locks styled in soft waves, the talented actress exuded elegance and grace as she took centre stage in the popular entertainment publication.

Snaps of the gorgeous singer were shared on social media by Variety, paying tribute to the Hocus Pocus star and her impressive career to date.

Along with the front page image, the magazine posted a photo of Midler posing among greenery, smiling up at the camera in a green frock. The image was in reference to her passion for the environment and work to help clean up parks and gardens in New York.

While the gorgeous snaps certainly caught people’s attention, the photo shoot was about more than showing off Midler’s beauty. The actress took the opportunity to share her passions with the world and most importantly to encourage young women to follow their dreams.

In a video shared by the publication on Instagram, the stunning actress spoke of the effect the internet has had on the world and how the use of social media has actually helped women reach their goals.

“I find the times that we are living in to be incredibly chaotic,” she explained. “I mean the internet has started us on this path and social media has picked up, but many, many good things have come out of it.

“Women especially have a real opportunity to get together and share stories and to decide that they want to be treated as equal people under the law and I think that’s a fantastic thing.”

Midler continued by handing out some advice to women, encouraging all females to embrace opportunities and create the future that they have always hoped for.

“Study you craft, never give up, treat yourself well, don’t drink, keep your instrument in tune, keep your skills up and be a friend to your friends and be a friend to your sisters,” she added. “That will help you a tremendous amount.”

The Beaches star was praised for her wise words with many fans leaving words of love and support for the talented actress via social media.
