Serena Williams stuns in breathtaking gown at fairytale wedding

We’re used to seeing her dominate the tennis court by Serena Williams was every inch the princess at her dream wedding earlier this week. 

The 36-year-old married her long-time partner Alexis Ohania in a lavish ceremony in the US city of New Orleans.

Their wedding came after the couple welcome their first child, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., earlier this year.

The popular athlete took to Instagram on Saturday to share her first photo from her big day.

While it didn’t have a caption, Williams could be seen wearing an astonishing dress.

The white number appeared to be a stunning floor-length number.

It didn’t have any sleeves and showed off the tennis pro’s toned arms.

She wore her hair in a glamorous bun for her nuptials.

The athlete completed her look with some stunning makeup and a gorgeous pair of earrings.

Fans were quick to gush over their idol online.

One person on Twitter wrote: “Congratulations @serenawilliams and @alexisohanian on your marriage! I am so happy for the 2 of you! I pray that God will give you two a long, blessed marriage and more beautiful babies 🙂 [sic]”

Another fan said: “You looked awesome. You looked confident. Best of all you looked happy! Best to you.”

A third added: “Wow! You are so beautiful and can’t believe you have had a baby you look fantastic.”

According to Page Six, no expense was spared for the star-studded event.

They report that Williams walked down the aisle in a gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, while her bridesmaids wore gowns by Galia Lahav.

Some 250 were said to attend the event including a long list of celebrities including The Voice Australia judge Kelly Rowland and even Vogue Editor Anna Wintour.

They also report that tables at the reception were named after Williams’ various Glam Slam titles and that each guest went home with their own replica trophy that the star had won at tournaments around the world.
