A woman has shared her panic after beginning a secret affair with an older man, despite the fact he’s her husband’s father. Writing to Kidspot, the woman said wants to find a way to get back to how things were, adding: “I screwed up big time”.
“It may sound hard to believe but it all started in the most innocent way, with me just wanting to help someone I care about to feel better,” she explained.
The woman said after her mother-in-law died of cancer a few months ago, her husband suggested his father come stay with them for a while.
“During the day, when [husband] was at work and I was home with [daughter], [father-in-law] kept busy helping me out and playing with his granddaughter. It was lovely to see his face light up when he played with her and I was sure his stay with us was helping.”
However, as they spent more time together they grew close. “[Husband] left for three nights, and the first two nights were pretty uneventful. [Father-in-law] and I kept busy looking after [daughter], and when she went to bed, we had a couple of drinks together and then went to bed.”
One night, however, she said they had a few too many drinks, adding: “He was so sad and when I gave him a big hug, things started to feel intimate. Before I knew what was happening, his mouth was on mine and then clothes were flying everywhere and we were having sex on my kitchen table.
“I now have done an absolutely unforgivable thing and I’m terrified of [husband] finding out,” she said.

It seems she isn’t the only person caught in a very complicated love triangle. It comes after a woman admitted to beginning a secret affair with her late husband’s older cousin, despite the fact he’s dating her own mother.
Just six months after losing her husband of 14 years, the woman began sleeping with his relative after he offered her comfort in her grief – and now she’s pleaded for advice on whether to come clean to her mum, or end the affair now.
Writing toThe Sun‘s advice column Dear Deidre, the 33-year-old woman revealed her 52-year-old lover has been dating her widowed mum for two years, but she recently got close to him herself. “I’ve fallen for my late husband’s cousin and we can’t leave each other alone. The problem is he’s being going out with my mother for the last two years,” she wrote.
