If you’re looking for a simple appetiser and a tasty meat-free meal, consider these irresistible crumbed broccoli bites.
Serves 4-6.
Ingredients
- 2 heads broccoli
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup corn flour
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 60g butter
- 60ml oil
Method
- Wash and dry the broccoli then divide it into florets. Beat eggs with the baking powder, 1 tablespoon of plain flour, 2 tablespoons of corn flour, garlic, pepper and salt to taste.
- Mix the rest of the flour and sesame seeds separately. Roll each broccoli floret first in the sesame-flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, in the sesame mix once again.
- Heat oil and butter in a deep frying pan, until a pinch of crumb sizzles when placed in the pan. Place broccoli to fry in heated oil and butter evenly.
- Drain the ready crumbed broccoli on a cooking grid.
