Even though our bathrooms may be spotless, a buildup of water marks and limescale over the shower screen can still make most of us feel “ick” when we go to wash ourselves.
But why spend your hard earned cash on expensive cleaners when you can get the job done quickly with items you probably have lying around your home?
Now thanks to one cleaning sensation, you can.
Calling herself Mylittlehome.x, the home guru likes to share tips and tricks in case “your mum never taught you”.
In a video she shared to TikTok, the clever cleaning fills up a refillable Dishmatic brush with equal parts white vinegar and dishwashing liquid.
Explaining how easy it is to use, the homemaker recommends cleaning the screen while you’re using the shower.
“If you do this every day in your shower you’re not going to have a big build up of water marks which means it’s going to be a lot quicker,” she said.
After wetting the brush under water she proceeds to scrub the shower screen and though she recommends using a window vac to clear off the soap suds she also showed how a squeegee still got the job done.
Then, she applied a liberal amount of window cleaner to both sides of the screen and wiped off all residue with a microfibre cloth.
She proudly showed off her results, saying “I’ve seen loads of shower screen hacks but I think this one works the best.”

Anything that makes cleaning the shower easier is always welcome and now another cleaning wiz has a clever trick to clear a problem area – clogged shower drains.
Taking the internet by storm, TikTok creator ND_home (@nd_home.hacks) uploaded a video on how you can transform a humble plastic straw into a drain cleaning dynamo.
In the clip titled “How to quickly and effectively clean shower drain from hair,” ND_home cuts the sides of a plastic straw with scissors and creates tiny serrations. Next, they slide the plastic straw-brush down the drain, demonstrating how easy it is to get the brush into difficult places.
Then, they pull out clumps of debris and hair with the serrated edges of the plastic brush – leaving behind a clean and clear drain pipe in a matter of moments without the aid of messy, chemical cleaners.
