Fact or fiction?

You make the call!

Marriages are made in heaven. But so again, are thunder and lightning.

After marriage, husband and wife become two sides of a coin – they can’t face each other, but, they still stay together.

Married  life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbours listen.

When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: either the car is new or the wife is.

Marriage is when a man and woman become as one. The trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about something she says. After marriage, he will fall asleep before she finishes talking.

Every man wants a wife who is beautiful, understanding, economical, and a good cook. But the law allows only one wife.

A wife becomes a SEX OBJECT when every time the husband asks for sex she objects!

Marriage is the only war where you get to sleep with the enemy.

Marriage is a contract to spend your life with another person. The vows, which many no longer use, are really about being honest in your interactions with the other person, to remain faithful to them, to give them your love and support, to not have affairs, to never lose sight of why you love them, to respect them.
Marriage is hard work, full of give and take, sometimes you spend a lot of time giving, but when you need them, they are there doing the giving.
Marriage is always a work in progress, communicating to each other is integral, when angry, tell them you want to cool down before talking about the issue.
Never go to bed angry with each other. Be kind, show you care, a peck on the cheek as you pass each other, sounds a bit romantic, but it is necessary, it shows you are there.
My husband is the most unromantic man, but it's these little gestures of a pat on the rear, ruffle of the hair, that remind me he loves me. Marriage is not a competition or how good do we look to the world at large. It is being there when the chips are down, emotional and physically showing up when you're at breaking point.
In our 51 years of marriage, I have learnt a great deal about my husband, as he has about me, we are still learning as we age and our health is an issue. I know I can trust my husband as he can me. We both show up for each other.

Normally, I really enjoy reading the jokes, given that a joke is designed to elicit a laugh. However...I'm sorry...but I'm not laughing. These are not jokes, they are more like insults to those couples who actually have incredibly equal, happy, harmonious and fulfilling relationships.
