Joan went to her mother to complain of a stomach ache. Her mother patted her on the head and said, “It’s because it’s empty. You’d feel better if you put something in it.” So she made her sandwich and finally Joan felt better.
Later, her father came home from work looking in pain as he rubbed his temples.
“What’s wrong?” she asked her father.
“I have a headache,” he told her.
Joan perked up right away, “It’s because it’s empty. You’d feel better if you put something in it!”
