Each year Starts at 60 holds a nationwide search for ‘Australia’s Funniest Boomer’, with the 2025 Grand Final shaping up to be something very special.
Come August 26, ten national finalists will be flown to Brisbane to compete for the title (and a Carnival Comedy Cruise holiday) at the Sit Down Comedy Club in Paddington, Brisbane.

Brekky radio legend Terry Hansen had the audience in stitches our inaugural 2024 comedy night, and we’re thrilled to have him back as MC for another year.
Many readers will recognise his rapid-fire comedy stylings from his 15 years in radio, including Robin, Terry & Bob on KIIS 97.3.
A seasoned comedian of 30 years, Terry has taken ageing in his stride.
“If I’m heckled by a young person in the crowd,” he jokes, “that’s now officially elder abuse!”
To cap off a great night of laughs, we’re thrilled to announce a standup set from headline act Steve Allison.
Considered “a genuine larrikin” and “one of the best undiscovered comics in Australia”, Steve has travelled more than a million kilometres on the comedy circuit, refining his razor-sharp one-liners, hilarious stories and funny home truths.
His laid-back style and love of life are downright infectious, and we can’t wait for our Brisbane community to get to know him better on August 26.
