Lady in red: Tom Hanks enjoys sweet moment with glamorous wife Rita Wilson

He’s starred alongside some of Hollywood’s leading ladies, but Tom Hanks only has eyes for one woman – and he looked as smitten as ever as he enjoyed a night out with his glamorous wife Rita Wilson on Friday.

The actor, 62, flashed a huge smile as he embraced Rita at the American Friends of Blerancourt Dinner at Colony Club in New York, sharing a kiss in front of their friends and appearing as in love as ever.

Rita stole the show once again as she showed off her figure in a tight scarlet red-coloured floor-length ball gown, with a one-shoulder neckline. She added a beautiful diamond necklace to her outfit and carried a stylish black clutch bag.

Wearing her long hair in loose waves over her shoulders, the star, also 62, looked a million dollars as she posed arm in arm with her famous husband.

Tom meanwhile looked smart and dapper in a dark suit with a large poppy to honour Remembrance Day this weekend.

The couple have two sons, Chet, 28, and Truman, 22, while Tom has two children (son Colin, 40, and daughter Elizabeth, 36) with ex-wife Samantha Lewes. He has been happily married to Rita for 30 years.

“I’m a lucky man,” he joked to E! News in 2016. “She could’ve done better.”

Meanwhile, speaking to Oprah Winfrey in 2001, the Forrest Gump star said: “I view my wife as my lover, and we have a bond that goes beyond words like wife or girlfriend or mother.”

He admitted in the tell-all chat that his own relationship has helped him identify with a lot of his characters, adding: “The same was true when I played Forrest Gump, who loved Jenny. Without my connection with Rita, I don’t know how I would’ve been able to connect with what Forrest was going through.”
